What is Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder

What exactly is HSDD or hypoactive sexual desire disorder? It is a very distressing disorder where the sufferer is devoid of any sexual fantasies or desire for sexual intimacy. The reason it has been classified as a disorder is because of the distress it causes for the person, particularly in a relationship.
It may be because of another psychological disorder and this needs to be determined before treatment for HSDD commences. If the person's partner feels that it is a problem in the relationship, then the sufferer should seek help from a qualified psychologist.

Some of the symptoms of HSDD include:

* Absence or deficient desire for and sexual fantasy
* Distress in relationships caused by this lack of desire
* It is not caused by substance abuse
* It is not caused by a medical condition
Some other associated features are:
* Some physical illnesses that cause pain or fatigue
* Hormone deficiency
* Stress
* Insomnia
* Pain during intercourse
Because some disorders are characterized by the same or similar symptoms, the health professional has to differentiate against other disorders in order to make an accurate diagnosis.
This disorder may begin during adolescence and prevail throughout the individual's lifespan. However, the lowered sexual desire often occurs after periods of stress.
There are a number of products available to treat sexual dysfunction in women. One of the most popular products is a natural cream called Vigorelle which is applied to intimate parts of the body before or during lovemaking. It creates a much higher intensity of excitement and climax. It is often referred to as female Viagra.
Another popular product is Provestra which is a natural product that doesn't interfere with other medications or birth control. There are no known side effects.

Counseling must be individualized according to the issues that may be causing the waning sexual desire. There may be a number of issues at play and these will all need to be addressed. This will need to be addressed before focusing on the sexual problems.
